The manipulator gets manipulated.
The mean person gets treated mean.
Basically, if only negativity is thrown around, it will come creeping back sooner or later landing smack dab on the person who threw it.
Switch gears.
Make what goes around good. Put a flower behind your ear, spread joy and get in gear. Or as Barbara Johnson said, "Stick a geranium in your hat and be happy!"
Spread good-- get good back.
Share joy--get joy in return.
Be friendly--be treated friendly.
