A deadly danger in the skies of Syria
The Russian air force will soon receive two new aircraft "A-50".
The A-50 is an early-warning and control aircraft or radar aircraft that can detect air targets at a distance of up to 650 kilometers.
One of the missions assigned to the radar is to coordinate attacks on ground targets at a distance of more than 300 kilometers.
The aircraft were used in Syria to monitor Western aircraft in Syrian airspace, according to a Western newspaper.
Russia's early warning planes pose a mortal danger when they work in coordination with fighter jets carrying air-to-air missiles, IR-33s, IR-37s and X-35 cruise missiles, the daily said.
The radar is capable of tracking 300 air targets simultaneously and can target missiles to targets hundreds of kilometers away.
It is noteworthy that Russia is working on the establishment of a new aircraft of this type called "A-100".
The new early warning aircraft is expected to serve the Russian air force in 2020 along with two new S-57 and MIG-35 fighter jets.
