Al-Ansar / ... The MP for the construction coalition Mansour al-Baiji, on Monday, that Iraq will continue trade and economic exchange with Iran against the United States and the winding, calling on the government not to succumb to and influenced by US pressure.
"There are strong relations between the two countries and there is trade and economic exchange in terms of foodstuffs or agriculture, not to mention the exchange of gas, electricity and oil, it is unreasonable to cut these things with Iran for American wishes," al-Baiji said in a statement.
"The Iraqi government must put the interest of the country and the people first and not be affected by the threat of America because the sanctions on Iran aim to destroy the two countries by striking the economy of Iraq and Iran, therefore we should not comply with any pressure to push the government to implement these sanctions."
Al-Baiji pointed out that "Iraq suffered many of these sanctions in the time of the former regime when imposed on us by America and we lived this painful experience so we do not accept the return of its neighboring Muslim country stood with Iraq in its plight against gangs and called for terrorism and therefore the interest of our country and our people is the degree First, trade and economic exchange between Iraq and Iran must continue, despite America's reluctance, and to bring about the imposition of such unjust sanctions aimed at destroying peoples.
