Basra Council warns of large protests in the province because of the budget of 2019

Basra Governorate Council warned of the consequences of renewed popular protests for the unfairness of the province with the financial budget for 2019.
A member of the provincial council of Basra, Mujib al-Hassani, "The financial budget for 2019 did not compromise the province of Basra, and the federal government depends 90% on the production of Basra oil and imports from its border ports."
"It is not fair to allocate one and a half trillion Iraqi dinars to balance Basra."
He explained that "there is a significant decline in the services sector in the province of Basra, and this comes because of the lack of fairness Basrah within the budgets of financial for previous years." He also stressed that "the Basrah Governorate Council and during its last session decided to challenge the budget of 2019."
Warning of angry demonstrations during the coming days for not securing the budget of Basra within the general budget of the country. "The Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced, (October 28, 2018), the approval of the Council on the draft financial budget for the year 2019 and forwarded to the House of Representatives.
