The Turkish lira continues to fall on concerns over relations with Washington

The Turkish lira fell further on Friday on fears of a possible deterioration in ties with Washington over Ankara's move to buy S-400 missile defense systems from Russia.
The Turkish lira fell to 5.4780 lira to the dollar by 0718 GMT, compared with 5.4583 lira to the dollar on Thursday.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that his country would never back down from its agreement to buy S-400 systems from Russia, adding that it could also consider buying S-500 systems later.
