The Parliament criticizes the government for failing to implement the Labor Law and demands the guarantee of their rights

    Baghdad Mawazine News
The parliamentary legal committee on Monday criticized the government for failing to implement the labor law despite a long period of legislation, while demanding the rights of the workers.
Committee member Ibtisam al-Hilali told Mawazine News that "the labor law was legislated a long time ago, but the government and the concerned authorities have not implemented the law so far."
Al-Hilali added that "the labor law has great and important sections for workers and guarantee their rights and allocations, but unfortunately the government did not initiate the pursuit of the implementation of the law, although it concerns a large group of Iraqi society."
"The law must be applied to guarantee the rights of the working class and grant them the necessary rights and allowances, and it is not beneficial to legislate such a law," he said.
"The law does not guarantee their rights, and laws have been passed for the popular mobilization, and they are given allocations that should pay attention to workers and others, they are the builders of the country," she said.
It should be noted that the House of Representatives earlier initiated the Labor Law and Social Security.
On Monday, May 1, Labor Day coincided with the call for granting them their rights and privileges, as did the rest of the people, employees and others.
