Iran bans scrap metal imports from Iraq

Iran has reportedly banned the import of scrap metal from Iraq and Afghanistan.
According to a report from Platts, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) requested the ban due to fears that consignments could be contaminated with radioactive material or chemicals, and that they may contain unexploded munitions.
It adds that Iran is not currently a big importer of scrap.
