    Shafaq News / The Head of Fallujah’s Mukhtars was killed on Saturday in an armed attack west of Baghdad, wounding four policemen by a roadside bomb east of Tikrit.

    “Unidentified gunmen opened fire this morning in the center of Fallujah district towards the car of the head of Mukhtars in Fallujah called Hamdi Jameeli and shot him dead on the spot the fled away,” the source told “Shafaq News”.

    “The security forces cordoned off the scene and the victim's body was transferred to the forensic medicine department and began raid and search operations in the surrounding areas in search of insurgents,” the source added.

    On the other hand, a police source in Salahuddin province told “Shafaq News", that “a roadside bomb was placed on the side of Tuz Khurmatu district in Tikrit exploded this morning, at a police patrol, wounding four elements of them “.

    Many areas of Salahuddin province witness almost continuous armed violence that often target government and security officials and civilians despite the announced tight security measures to address them.
