Parliament postpones the vote on the amendment of the law of provinces not organized in the province

The Iraqi Council of Representatives voted during its regular session on Saturday to postpone the vote on the draft amendment to the law of provinces not organized in the province.

A parliamentary source told Ashqaf News that the council postponed the vote on the draft amendment of the Third Law of Governorates not organized in the province at the request of the committees.

The head of the parliamentary bloc MP Hamed al-Khudari had called earlier today to vote on the third amendment to the proposed provincial councils law for the year 2008, which was presented by the head of the citizen bloc.

The amendment stipulates that the Council of the provinces (11) ten seats for each (250,000) two hundred fifty thousand people to more than (500,000) five hundred thousand people.
