It is no longer a secret that the pace of political stability, the spread of security, and the steps taken by the Iraqi government in terms of developing the economy, providing services, and adopting balanced foreign policies have had a positive impact on Iraq’s image among its Arab brothers. The observer can sense this change in what is written and published these days in the Arab social media.
However, the picture becomes clear and complete when you visit an Arab country and listen to the comparisons made by observers there about two images of Iraq, old and new.
The old one is related to the years of security unrest that was the most prominent feature of Iraq’s image as promoted by the media, some of which were neither fair nor neutral. However, a new image began to emerge in the eyes of our Arab brothers, which is that Iraq has returned to being worthy of its name and its luminous history, and its ability to play the role that its brothers expect of it.
During the past two days, a delegation from the Iraqi Media Network, headed by the network’s director, Mr. Abdul Karim Hammadi, participated in the first coordination meeting held in Tunisia for the purpose of preparing for the Arab Media Conference scheduled to be held in Baghdad in April (2025).
It was striking and a source of pride that all the delegations and media personnel who attended the meeting were confident in Iraq’s ability to be present at such major events, because news of Iraq’s ability to organize major events had reached them long before the delegation arrived.
Anyone who sees the desire of Arab media professionals to come to Baghdad and see it during its time of renaissance will know that the new image of Iraq has been established and has taken the place of the old, distorted image.
