Member of Parliament Ibtisam Al-Hilali said today, Sunday, that the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project paves the way for normalizing relations with the Zionist entity and cannot be passed by the House of Representatives, and we have not reached any agreements regarding the project.
Al-Hilali said in a statement that “the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project has sparked widespread controversy within the halls of the House of Representatives, considering that this project, in its current form, paves the way for normalizing relations with the Zionist entity.”
She added, "The Aqaba project is still under study and discussion within the halls of the House of Representatives, and no step has been taken towards passing the project, as it paves the way for the Zionist entity to obtain Iraqi oil."
Al-Hilali pointed out that “the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project is controversial and is still under study, denying setting a “specific time frame for approving the project.” End / 12A
