The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that 900,000 retired workers in the private sector would be covered by social security. A member of the committee Majida al-Tamimi said in a statement that "the salaries of workers in the private sector secured will be equal to the salaries of workers in the government sector within the general pension fund." "The retirement pension will be moved back in the event of the death of the retired worker, in addition to the maternity leave for women working in the private sector, similar to those employed in the government sector."
