The Syrian regime has presented another opinion on this issue, according to the German weekly Der Spiegel.
Brigadier General Essam Zahiruddin, one of the most prominent officers of the Syrian regime, threatened Syrian refugees who fled abroad because of the war in their country if they thought of returning.
The German website quoted Zaharuddin, an officer in the Republican Guard led by Maher al-Assad, the brother of the Syrian president, as saying in a statement to Syrian state news channel "Those who escaped from Syria to another country, please do not return because if the state allowed us a covenant we will not forget and we will not forgive "He said.
"Advice from Haldkin (to my neighborhood) to the extent (no one) is due to you," he said, addressing Syrian refugees abroad.
An online videotape of statements made by the Syrian officer was published.
Zuhairuddin's remarks came during an interview with the official news channel, after the forces of the Syrian regime managed to lift the siege of the city of Zour in eastern Syria, where there are large numbers of militants of the "Islamic State" known as "Daash." He said in his remarks that he would continue to walk with his forces easily with allied militias to reach the border town of Albuqmal with Iraq to meet with the popular mobilization militias and to clear the area of "Rejs Dahesh."
It is noteworthy that the name of the officer Issam Zahr al-Din has emerged during events in Syria since March 2011, after he led military operations against armed opposition in several areas. In what supporters of the Syrian regime see as a successful officer, the opposition accuses him of committing war crimes, killing and destruction.
