The health control teams in Nasiriyah destroyed 6,750 kg of solids and 1518 liters of liquid substances unsuitable for human consumption. This was part of an inspection campaign to ascertain the validity of foodstuffs in the markets of Nasiriyah, which included 14 inspection trips, which included the achievement of 1150 visits to shops.

"The campaign included the closure of 18 shops in violation of the health conditions, while seven fines were imposed on a number of shops," said the head of Nasseriya Health Sector Rafid Saleh al-Badri said in a statement.

He pointed out "the continuation of the inspection campaign for all commercial markets throughout the city of Nasiriyah."
