Britain: 40 Conservative MPs ready to overthrow Teresa May

Forty members of the British parliament of the Conservative Party led by Prime Minister Teresa Mai have agreed to sign a letter of no confidence in May, the Sunday Times reported.
Mai has struggled to maintain her power over her party since the early June 8 election, which she called a winner by a big margin, but instead lost her majority in parliament.
The May government suffers from divisions over how Britain gets out of the EU and has been hit by several scandals involving ministers.
The May government has not been able to assert its authority over a chaotic political situation and weaken London's position in EU exit talks.
A previous attempt to oust Mae failed after her speech at the party's annual convention, but many conservatives still resent Mai's performance.
It is noteworthy that the number of 40 is less than eight than the number needed to hold elections on the leadership of the party, which can be removed May from the presidency of the party and replace it with another leader.
