The Palestinian Prisoners' Center for Studies confirmed that the number of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli prisons increased to 504 prisoners after the occupation courts issued a new sentence of life imprisonment against the two brothers Nasr and Akram Badawi from Hebron.
According to media spokesman Riyad al-Ashqar, the Ofer Military Court recently issued a life sentence in addition to a fine of 60,000 shekels against the two brothers, Nasr, 23, Akram, 33, and Faisal Mohammed Badawi, Carried out several sniper operations led to the killing of a soldier and wounding others; where the occupation called the cell "Sniper Hebron".
He pointed out that the occupation had arrested the brothers "Badawi" in January of last year by 10 days between them; Nasr was arrested on 8-1-2016, while his brother Akram was arrested on 17-1-2017, And subjected to harsh interrogation for more than two months using all means of torture to obtain confessions confirming their responsibility for the sniping operations that have terrified the occupation for a long time.
He added that the sentence of life for the brothers "Badawi" is the eighth since the beginning of this year, and the courts of the occupation issued seven years of life imprisonment for prisoners, the last of which was the prisoner freed in the deal Wafa al-Ahrar Ziad Hassan Awad (45 years) Hebron, after being convicted of killing an officer in the Israeli police after being shot in 2014, near the settlement of Kiryat Arba.
Al-Ashqar said that the life sentence is life imprisonment.
