An informed political source revealed today, Tuesday (October 15, 2024), that the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, will head to Ankara tomorrow, Wednesday, on an official visit to discuss 6 files, most notably the elections.
The source said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, will visit the Turkish capital, Ankara, tomorrow, Wednesday, on an official visit," indicating that "he will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and will discuss a number of files with him."
He added, "The visit includes discussing the files of the Kurdistan Region elections, the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and its dangers to Iraq and the region, in addition to some security, political and economic files related to Iraq and the region in general."
It is worth noting that Barzani's visit comes a few days before the start of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, with the end of the electoral campaign period for the Kurdish parties at 12 midnight today.
