The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, called on al-Hakim, today, Wednesday (October 16, 2024), to pay greater attention to the issue of food security and agricultural production.
Al-Hakim said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "On World Food Day, we call for enhancing and deepening public awareness of the suffering of the hungry and those suffering from food shortages in the world, especially the people of the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, who are afflicted these days by war, starvation, thirst, and the unjust siege imposed on them by the Israeli occupation entity."
He continued: "In Iraq, we urge the need to pay greater attention to the issue of food security and agricultural production," stressing the "need to exert greater efforts at the governmental and other levels to achieve this noble goal."
