Shafaq News/ Diyala Governorate MP Salem Al-Anbaki revealed details of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani's visit to the governorate, today, Wednesday.
Al-Anbaky told Shafak News Agency, "The Prime Minister conducted a tour to inspect the service reality in Diyala Governorate, and reviewed a number of projects, including the Khalis and Baqubah sewerage projects, and the Australian Hospital, which has a capacity of 400 beds and has been suffering from delays in its completion for more than 10 years."
Al-Anbaky added that "the Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the level of services in the governorate, and criticized the implementation of some projects and the delay in their completion," noting that he "warned the company that was delaying the implementation of the Australian Hospital project, hinting at the possibility of withdrawing the project from it if it was not completed quickly."
Al-Anbaky pointed out that "the coming days will witness a high-level government meeting in the capital, Baghdad, to discuss the reality of Diyala Governorate, the problems of delaying some projects, in addition to the decline in the service reality in some of its areas."
In the context, Al-Sudani's office said that the latter conducted a field visit to the Australian Hospital project in the east of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate, where he arrived in the governorate to follow up and inaugurate a number of service projects.
During the visit, according to his office, Al-Sudani inspected the project site and reviewed the progress of implementation and the rates of completion. He stressed the need for companies implementing service and strategic projects to adhere to the specified timetables, emphasizing that any delay is unacceptable regardless of the excuses. He expressed the government's determination to end any procrastination and completely eliminate its causes.
The Australian Hospital project has a capacity of 400 beds and is being implemented by a specialized Australian company. This project has been stalled since 2008, and work has been resumed on it as part of the government’s drive to end stalled projects. The project’s completion rate has reached 27%.
The hospital consists of 5 floors, and includes a consulting clinic and multiple specialized departments, in addition to an emergency hall with a capacity of 40 beds and other service departments.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani also announced the inclusion of the implementation of (99) schools in Diyala Governorate, funded by the Iraq Development Fund.
This came during his chairing of a meeting of officials of service departments and formations in Diyala Governorate.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani arrived today, Wednesday, in Diyala Governorate, where he inaugurated the Baghdad-Khalis Road as part of the Baghdad-Kirkuk Road Rehabilitation Project, and followed up on the field implementation of the Khalis and West Baqubah sewerage projects, stressing the importance of adhering to the scheduled timetables for completing service projects.
