The number of US soldiers killed during non-combat training has risen 130 percent in 2017 over the same period last year, according to a Fox News report.
The report said 37 soldiers were killed during training in 2017, the last of which crashed a US Navy aircraft last Wednesday in the Philippine Sea, with 11 soldiers on board, eight of whom were rescued, while the remaining three were missing.
The number of military aircraft involved in non-combat and crash operations rose 38 percent in 2017 to 22, compared to the same period in 2016, the report said.
"We are killing more of our soldiers during the exercises, than those who are killed by enemies in combat," Senator John McCain commented on such incidents.
