[ltr]The launch of the largest US-Korean air maneuver As[/ltr]
    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]The United States and South Korea on Monday launched the largest air military exercise in their history, which North Korea called a "total provocation", days after Pyongyang tested its strongest intercontinental ballistic missiles.[/ltr]
[ltr]The exercises, which began Monday morning and continue for five days 230 military aircraft, led by six American F-22 fighter jets and tens of thousands of soldiers, according to the South Korean army.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Vigilant Ice exercises on the Korean Peninsula are held annually to "strengthen the defense posture," but this time it is "unprecedented in both size and strength," Yonhap news agency reported.[/ltr]
[ltr]Pyongyang criticized the exercise and accused the Trump administration of "pursuing a nuclear war."[/ltr]
[ltr]The exercise comes five days after Pyongyang tested a new intercontinental missile that says it is making the entire territory of the United States in its own right.[/ltr]
[ltr]As tensions escalated, US senator Lindsay Graham warned Sunday that the United States was close to launching a preemptive strike against North Korea.[/ltr]
[ltr]"If you conduct an underground nuclear test then you have to be prepared for various forms of response from the United States," Graham said on CBS.[/ltr]
[ltr]The isolated regime in North Korea has conducted six nuclear tests since 2006, most recently in September.[/ltr]
[ltr]"With every missile test and every underground nuclear test, it means that mating between them is likely," Graham said.[/ltr]
[ltr]He agrees with national security adviser Herbert McMaster, who said at a security forum in Washington on Saturday that the chances of war with North Korea "are increasing day by day."[/ltr]
[ltr]North Korea claimed that the Huasong-15 missile, which was tested on Wednesday, was capable of delivering a "supernatural nuclear warhead" anywhere on American soil.[/ltr]
[ltr]Analysts agree that Pyongyang's recent experience has shown significant progress in terms of missile range, but they are likely to be achieved by a lighter, lighter nuclear warhead.[/ltr]
[ltr]They say a rocket with a heavier nuclear warhead would not be able to cross that distance.[/ltr]
[ltr]He doubted Pyongyang's ability to acquire the technology needed to protect the nuclear head from the high temperatures and stress it would face when the rocket returned from space to Earth.[/ltr]
