    [ltr]The White House announced that US Vice President Mike Pence's visit to the Middle East would be postponed until mid-January amid continuing protests against Trump's decision to consider Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The postponement of Bens's visit comes at a time when the US administration is preparing a decisive vote on the new tax law in Congress, as well as the announcement of the Palestinian Authority's refusal to receive it following the Trump decision on Jerusalem.[/ltr]

    [ltr]On Monday, the United States vetoed a Security Council resolution condemning US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Washington looked completely isolated internationally after the rest of the 14 member states voted in favor of the draft resolution.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Egypt has submitted the draft resolution on Jerusalem, which warns of the "serious repercussions" of the American decision to recognize the Holy City as the capital of Israel, and calls for its abolition.[/ltr]

    The White House announced on Tuesday that it was postponing a visit by US Vice President Mike Pence to the Middle East next month.
