[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed: "Iraq is a fundamental state in the region and not a marginal one."
In a televised speech, al-Maliki called on the government, political blocs and tribes to preserve internal security, maintain stability and preserve Iraq.
He pointed to the importance of the statement of the supreme religious authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and said: "We stand with all appreciation and respect for the statement issued by the religious authority, which referred to the fundamental issues from the position of an expert and observer, and the government and political forces must abide by what was stated in it."
He continued: "We must work according to his points, the most important of which is choosing competencies in state institutions, addressing corruption, addressing the issue of loose weapons that cause deterioration and anxiety in the political process, working to not infringe on Iraq's sovereignty and establishing relations without external interference, and preparing for security challenges and terrorism.
