Diyala Council Chairman Omar Al-Karwi confirmed, on Friday, that 4 oil and gas fields will be offered for the next licensing round.
Al-Karwi said in an interview, “Diyala is distinguished by the presence of natural resources of oil and gas from 12-16 regions according to indicators documented by the competent authorities, but most of them are not invested yet.”
He added, "Diyala was included in the Ministry of Oil's licensing rounds in the past years, and there are efforts to add 4 oil and gas fields in the upcoming rounds, especially with the efforts to develop the gas fields that are characterized by large reserves in the areas east and north of Diyala."
He pointed out that "the upcoming rounds will be important, especially since Diyala's safe environment encourages the influx of foreign companies in order to proceed with implementing the investment and development stages of the fields, leading to the start of actual production."
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Oil included several fields in the last licensing rounds, most notably Al-Mansouriyah and Al-Khashm Al-Ahmar in the northern Diyala sector. End 25 F
