    The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee praised, on Friday (November 8, 2024), the intelligence efforts of the security forces, indicating that the quality of information contributed to directing strong blows to ISIS during the past days.
    MP Yasser Iskandar, a member of the committee, told Baghdad Today, "The intelligence effort succeeded in dismantling two sleeper cells of ISIS terrorist gangs during the past 72 hours in Diyala and Kirkuk."
    He added that "members of the two cells were arrested through special qualitative operations carried out through direct ambushes without any losses," stressing that "the quality of accurate information is what contributed to achieving important strikes in recent months against ISIS and its sleeper cells."
    Iskandar pointed out that "the war on terrorism has taken on an important dimension, especially with the killing of the most important names on the ISIS map, starting from the first rank and reaching the leaders of the sectors hiding in burrows and remote hideouts, but they have been reached."
    On October 22, 2024, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, announced the killing of the so-called “Wali of Iraq” in the terrorist organization ISIS and eight of the organization’s senior leaders. 
    Security experts say in previous statements and reports that Iraq is going through the best stages of security stability, there are no attacks, infiltration operations have become very limited, and there are no qualitative terrorist operations inside Iraq, in addition to the success of the security forces in restricting the movements of the terrorist organization ISIS after it was able yesterday to use what is called the complex military geography in the mountain range in the open areas in the desert.
