    Baghdad Today - Kurdistan
An informed source revealed, today, Saturday (November 9, 2024), that the discussions of the delegation of the Ministry of Finance in the Kurdistan Regional Government in Baghdad are continuing.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the negotiations are ongoing in Baghdad, and the Kurdistan delegation met with the Audit Bureau in the Ministry of Finance and informed them of the numbers and figures of employees for the month of October, as well as developments in the process of localizing salaries."
He added, "There is an increase in the amounts compared to last month, and an attempt by the regional government to remove the names of lecturers who were confirmed on the regional government's staff, which is why the disbursement of salaries has been delayed, and also a demand from Baghdad to hand over the financial revenues to the border crossings for the past months."
He pointed out that "according to the information, Baghdad will send the first batch of funds within two days, amounting to more than 500 billion dinars, and it will be completed by the end of the week."
An informed source revealed on Tuesday (October 29, 2024) that a high-level Kurdish delegation visited the capital, Baghdad, to discuss a number of files, including the population census and salaries.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "A delegation from the regional government headed by the Minister of Planning, Dara Rashid, has been in Baghdad since yesterday," indicating that "the delegation met with the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Federal Minister of Planning, Mohammed Tamim."
He added that "the aim of the visit is to discuss the population census file and the method of calculating the population, especially in the disputed areas," noting that "solving the technical problems and the budget file for the census will be present during the discussions."
For his part, the advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government for Economic Affairs, Rebaz Hamlan, confirmed that two delegations from the Kurdistan Region are present in Baghdad, noting that the issue of October salaries and employee promotions are the topics of their meetings.
Hamlan said in a press interview, "The Ministry of Finance delegation is in Baghdad carrying with it the October payroll list," noting that "the problems in the payroll list for the other months remain few and most of them have been resolved, and according to the list we need 996 billion dinars."
He added, "There is another issue that the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation will discuss with Iraqi officials, which is the issue of employee promotions that have been suspended for several years," stressing that "we intend to make the salaries of all employees in the region like Iraq."
