    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi confirmed that there were errors in dealing with the prices of Basra Heavy and Medium crude oil by the media.[/rtl]

[rtl]He added in a post on Facebook that there is a time lag in announcing global crude prices, as Brent and West Texas crude prices are adjusted every minute or less.[/rtl]

[rtl]He explained that "other types of crude oil, including Basra crude, take several hours or several days for their prices to adjust, and therefore the price of Basra crude oil sometimes appears higher than the price of Brent, and this is scientifically unacceptable due to the technical specifications of both crude oils."[/rtl]

[rtl]He explained that "Brent crude is a high-quality crude, light and sweet, while Basra crude is medium and sour, due to the high sulfur content, and therefore Basra crude is less expensive than Brent crude by about $3 per barrel."[/rtl]
