     Follow-up / Sky Press:

The Supreme Court in Tehran sentenced the execution of Ahmed Reza Jalali, an Iranian researcher accused of "spying for Israel," according to local media.

"The spy who assisted the Israeli Mossad in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists has been sentenced to death," Tehran's chief prosecutor, Abbas Jafari Dulbat Ebadi, was quoted by the local English-language newspaper The Iran Project as saying.

"Jalali met with agents of foreign intelligence agencies (not identified) about 8 times, and received money from them," he said, before his arrest in April 2016.

He explained that the accused handed over the Israeli Mossad "information about 30 prominent Iranian figures in the fields of scientific research, the army, defense, and nuclear projects."

Ebadi said that among the information revealed by Jalali, information about "the nuclear worlds Majid Shahriari and Massoud Ali Mohammadi, who were assassinated in 2010."

The official did not disclose the exact date of execution, according to the same source.

According to the agency "Reuters", Iranian state television last week broadcast what he said were Jalali's confessions. His wife said the interrogators forced him to read the confession.

Jalali holds a PhD in Unforeseen Incident Management and a bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine, while his wife worked as an expert in Iran's Atomic Energy Organization.

Jalali was arrested in Iran and later convicted of espionage. Amnesty International says it has denied the charges.

Jalali was on a business trip to Iran when he was arrested and sent to Evin prison. Amnesty International has shown that he was held in solitary confinement for three months and tortured.
