The United States accused a former US Air Force officer of helping Iran in what Washington called an electronic espionage operation targeting intelligence officers.
The United States has accused Monica Wyatt of spying on US intelligence officials, describing it as "betrayal of the country" by Assistant Attorney General John Demers.
As part of the US move, Washington has imposed sanctions on two Iranian-based companies, New Horizons, Net Bigard Smoot, and a number of associated individuals.
The Treasury said that "Net Bigard" targeted former and current members of the government and military malicious campaign, and that "New Horizon" organized international conferences supporting the efforts of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to recruit the presence of foreigners, and collect information from them.
