    The Syrian Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, calling for condemnation of the coalition raid on forces loyal to the Syrian army in the countryside of Deir al-Zour.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Syria calls for condemnation of this massacre and for holding the international coalition responsible for it and obliging it to stop its crimes and attacks that caused the killing and wounding of thousands of civilians, children and women and the elderly, and the destruction of infrastructure and public and private property."[/ltr]
    [ltr]The Syrian foreign ministry described the bombing as a "brutal massacre" and called it a "new aggression" that represents a "war crime, a crime against humanity and a direct and specific support for terrorism."
