    Deputy President of the Republic Nuri al-Maliki, on Saturday, to the process of comprehensive reform in the structure of the Iraqi political system, stressing that the political system was impaired due to quotas and sectarianism.
    "Iraq needs the expertise of university professors, colleges and various scientific and educational institutions," Maliki said during a meeting with professors from Iraqi universities, according to a statement of his office. "The importance of continuous communication between officials in the state and academics and specialists in all Fields ".
    He explained that "Iraq and after the victories that have been achieved will be ahead of an important stage that requires the mobilization of efforts to complete the electoral benefits, so must take the elite and scientific and academic competencies role in building the state."
    Maliki stressed on the "need to reform the political system, which was affected by the imbalance because of quotas and sectarianism, which led to the deterioration of the situation and helped to deepen the crisis rather than resolve," noting that "it is necessary to work on a comprehensive reform of the structure of the Iraqi political system."
    Maliki called on university professors to "invest their educational mission in raising the awareness of students on all issues of interest to the country and its children and provide them with the knowledge required so as not to fall prey to misinformation and falsification of awareness."
