The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Monday that Japan would provide financial assistance to displaced people in Iraq and Syria.
"Japan has pledged $ 19 million to displaced people in Iraq and Syria this year 2018," the UNHCR said in a statement to the News Agency.
"Fifteen million dollars have been provided by Japan to help displaced people in Iraq, while another 4 million have been allocated to help displaced people in Syria," she said.
"Since the beginning of the conflict in Iraq in 2014, Japan has provided UNHCR with $ 73 million," it said.
Kuwait recently hosted a conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, with the participation of several Arab and foreign countries.
