The Russian embassy in Washington confirmed on Thursday that the Syrian issue remains at the forefront of Russian foreign policy, noting that the Scrippal case will not distract us from Syria.
"We call upon Washington once again to desist from the irresponsible plans and statements that signal an irreversible aggravation of the crisis," the embassy said in a statement on its Facebook page. They will not succeed in diverting our attention from Syria to the British narrative, to the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Scrippel, and Syria will remain at the forefront of Russian diplomacy. "
