    [ltr]Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Abdul Aziz al-Shammari said on Monday that Iraq spends about 50 billion dollars on the import of goods annually, while stressing the work of his country to link Iraq with the Red Sea by rail and open a beautiful crossing for pilgrims.[/ltr]
    [ltr]This came during the meeting of the Saudi ambassador to a number of political and media analysts as well as a number of intellectuals. The meeting witnessed a frank and direct dialogue on relations between Baghdad and Riyadh and ways to turn the old page of Saudi Arabia towards Iraq.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The relationship between Iraq and Saudi Arabia needs more than a year to fully recover and to complete the rest of the new agreements and treaties," Shammari said during the meeting.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The ambassador stressed the support of "Saudi Arabia to promote the commercial reality in Iraq and stop the import from abroad, through the development of industry and agriculture," noting that "Iraq spends annually $ 50 billion on the import of materials."[/ltr]
    [ltr]The ambassador pointed out that "Iraq needs to focus on the side of control and the arrangement of resources, through practical procedures to restore the infrastructure of the country, and to achieve qualitative development," adding that "the Saudi economic companies are ready to enter the Iraqi market and contribute to the rise,[/ltr]
