{Politics: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Legal Committee revealed that several intensive sessions of the House of Representatives will soon be held to compensate for its suspension during the past weeks.
Committee member Mohammed Al-Khafaji told {Euphrates News} agency: "During the coming period, many important laws will be proposed, including voting on the Personal Status Law."
He explained that "the suspension that occurred during this period was a result of the current situation in general and the Kurdistan Region elections that started today for general voting and next Sunday, which led to the Kurdistan Region representatives being preoccupied with their electoral lists and not being present, and prevented holding sessions during the past week." Al-
Khafaji pointed out that "next week will witness intensive sessions and many laws will be included, including amending the General Amnesty Law and the Personal Status Law, which was read a second time and is still being discussed within the committee and has many opinions and proposals about it, and it is not yet completely complete."
He pointed out that "many other laws are still in the legislative stage and will be presented to the House of Representatives for reading."
