Oil prices fell on Tuesday in anticipation of developments in the supply of crude, prior to the announcement of preliminary inventory data.

By 7:35 am GMT, Brent crude for August delivery fell 1% to $ 74.58 a barrel.

The price of NYMEX crude futures fell $ 65.2 a barrel by 1%.

The US Petroleum Institute is due to announce its preliminary inventory data for the week.

In its latest forecasts, the US Energy Information Administration announced that the production of shale oil will see an increase in the next month by 141 thousand barrels per day to 7.3 million barrels per day.

Investors are also eyeing what the current trade tension between Washington and Beijing will end after new US threats to impose tariffs on imports of $ 200 billion from Beijing.

Investors are waiting for the OPEC meeting in Vienna at the end of this week, amid expectations that it will end the decision to increase production to counter rising prices.
