Today, Friday, political analyst Muayyad Al-Ali accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of harming Iraq through the water blockade, political interference, and security violations.
Al-Ali told Al-Maalouma, “The Turkish positions towards Iraq were not as desired during the past few years, as they worked to reduce the water share, violate its sovereignty, harm its interests, and interfere in its political affairs.”
He added, "The situation of agriculture and food security has been greatly damaged by Turkish plans, in addition to the ongoing violations of Iraqi sovereignty under the pretext of targeting members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, while Ankara is implementing an expansionist policy to control the largest possible area of Iraqi territory."
He stated, "The Turkish President visited Iraq in order to obtain economic gains through development, in addition to the political developments and equations in the region, which made Erdogan think about achieving new interests for his country, which is something that pushes Iraq to invest it to its advantage."
