    [size=45]The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research counted the number of foreign students participating in the Study in Iraq program, and the size of the scholarships allocated to the second phase of free and non-free.[/size]
    [size=45]Director General of the Ministry’s Scholarships Department, Hazem Baqir Taher, said, “3,000 foreign students applied to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as part of the Study in Iraq program, and 1,015 students were accepted in the previous year, where they were distributed among all Iraqi universities with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees,” indicating that “The program is part of an initiative to develop and internationalize higher education so that Iraq becomes a place of brilliance and attracts foreign students, in addition to reflecting their impression of security and economic stability and the level of universities, and thus, they will be ambassadors for Iraq in their countries.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The Ministry launched the second version of the Study in Iraq program, as we provided approximately 14,200 scholarships for the next academic year, including 7,000 free and 6,800 semi-free to revitalize Iraqi universities,” explaining, “The second version was launched on April 1 and is offered until There are now 2,000 students in the system, and applications are continuing until 6/1 to close applications for postgraduate studies, and continuing until 1/8 for preliminary studies. We also expect that in the next academic year the number of foreign students will be greater.”[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed that “the program in its first version was very successful,” pointing out that “the Minister of Higher Education directed that the foreign student has the choice between staying during the summer vacation or traveling to his country.”
    He pointed out, “There are 1,015 foreign students studying in Iraq during the current academic year, and the Arabs are the majority, and the majority of foreigners are from the continent of Asia, followed by Africa and then Europe. The percentage of those entering primary studies is 77%, the doctorate is 8%, and the master’s is 22%.”[/size]
