Jaafari attacks Saudi Arabia and threatens to crack down on him

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Bashar Jaafari, launched a sharp attack on Saudi Arabia following a draft resolution on the human rights situation in his country, threatening to take action against the kingdom.
"Syria rejects the draft resolution on the human rights situation and confirms that the Saudi regime, the main sponsor of the project, has neither the legal nor the moral capacity to present such a project," Jaafari said at a meeting of the UN General Assembly.
Jaafari said that "the content of the draft resolution is unbalanced and aimed at distorting the facts and the image of the Syrian government and its legitimate institutions, reflecting the position of the Saudi regime and its destructive policies towards Syria."
Jaafari accused the "Saudi regime" of wanting to "use surplus oil money to impose political pressure and financial polarization on the United Nations and push the collapse of the principles and undermine confidence in their credibility, seriousness and balance."
"Saudi Arabia has not known since its inception a parliament, constitution or elections. It has known oppression of citizens and oppression of women, minorities and foreign workers. Recently, one of its diplomatic headquarters used to kill and cut the body of a Saudi journalist who opposed the ruling family."
The Syrian diplomat stressed that his country "considers voting in favor of the draft resolution hostile action directed against it," and vowed: "that his country will not hesitate to exercise its national sovereign rights and take action against the sponsors and voters for his benefit."
