    Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, Sunday, denied the news cited by a
    number of news agencies on their response to a U.S. request to replace
    President Jalal Talabani, the leader of the Iraqi List, Iyad Allawi, to
    assume the presidency.

    A statement of the Presidency reportedly
    for "Twilight News", that "several news sites published reports that the
    presidency of the region expressed their consent to be replaced Mr.
    Iyad Allawi replaced President Jalal Talabani as president at the
    request of the U.S.."

    The statement added that "the presidency
    has denied previously and denies any news of this kind," stressing that
    "the news has no basis."

    The report was published by the New York
    Times in September of last year has revealed that the administration of
    U.S. President Barack Obama tried to circumvent the results of the 2010
    elections in the decision and insisted that the position of Prime
    Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who does not want Tehran otherwise.

    He
    said the report's author Michael Gordon said there's really new look was
    in contact President Obama on the fourth of November 2010 President
    Talabani asking him to relinquish his post to the existing Iraqi
    President Iyad Allawi is that the request was turned down.

    Gordon
    added that the desire to replace Talabani, Allawi is to establish a
    balance of power to counter the propensity to monopoly power when
    al-Maliki, who want Tehran.

    While suggesting some sites news
    reporting that meetings and held in recent days between the leaders of
    the Iraqi List and the leaders of the Kurdistan Region touched on the
    agreement between the two sides to take over the Iraqi leader Iyad
    Allawi as president instead of the current president, Jalal Talabani,
    who lives in Germany now for treatment after stroke suffered a few
    months ago.
