The Reform Alliance on Wednesday accused Kuwait of attempting to seize marine areas, including the Fesht Al-Aik area, indicating its manipulation of the terrain illustrates its expansionist intentions, the result of which is the creation of strife between the two countries.
Rep. Asaad al-Abadi told Al-Maalouma that "UN Security Council Resolution 833 left Fesht al-Aik area between the port of Fao and buoy number 17 to negotiate between [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Kuwait, despite the injustice of the resolution to Iraq and the story of large areas and annexation of Kuwait."
He added that "the reason for the Security Council to leave the Ficht Al-Aik as it is the only shipping lane for Iraq, which links it with navigation with the countries of the world," noting that "Kuwait wants to strangle [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] shipping by turning the region into an island and the death of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ports ."
Abadi promised Kuwait's manipulation of the topography of the region as "reveals its expansionist intentions at the expense of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which will turn to sedition between the two countries," pointing out that "Kuwait wants to impose more harassment on the Iraqi coasts and ports."
He stressed, " [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] does not allow Kuwait through the executive and legislative authorities to override that region and regard them as red lines."
