MP Ahmed al-Mashhadani, called for an emergency and public session of the House of Representatives to question the government for violating the repression beyond the perception of its people.
He said in a statement that "under the current circumstances in Iraq and the escalation of demonstrations in most of our cherished provinces and with the continued government repression of peaceful demonstrators and the failure of the government to respond to their demands and the insistence of the people to remove this government and hold the corrupt to account today we renew our demands to resign the government immediately and early new elections A new independent electoral commission is not really subject to the policy of parties, calling for an emergency session of the Council of Representatives and questioning the government for violating the repression beyond the perception of its people and that the meeting be public to the attention of the Iraqi people.
Mashhadani added, "While we stress the need for peaceful demonstrations and not to drag things to the unfavorable consequences, we can not accept in any way to be false witnesses to what happens to our people, which we represent in parliament, every martyr falls in the yards of demonstrations and every drop "Blood is a blood that represents the cause of a nation whose children have always taken their lives to achieve this cause."
He continued, "We represent our people and the protection of those we represent is a top priority for us. The homeland means the citizen and any abuse of the citizen is a stab in the body of our Iraq, which has recovered its lights, God willing, with the will, patience and strength of its loyal and free sons.
