[size=18]A member of the Iraqi Economic Council, Ghadeer Al-Attar, confirmed that the sewing profession is one of the most important Iraqi industries.

Al-Attar said in a press statement that "the next government should put plans to revive the Iraqi industry," adding that "the rehabilitation and development of production lines in the Cotton and Textile Industries Company, and the operation of military and non-military sewing factories are very important to the national economy."

Al-Attar considered that "the project of restarting the military and non-military sewing lab and other governmental and private sewing factories will cover the need of the local market from the local product as well as providing cash in the market, in addition to employing the largest number of men and women workers who stopped this profession after a year 2003 due to the importer dominating the market. "

Al-Attar pointed out "the importance of the government adopting a plan to open doors for Iraqi private sector investors to take their role in work and participate in economic development and encourage the national product to be a strong competitor with its importing counterpart."
