On Thursday, legal expert Ali al-Tamimi explained the constitutional mechanism in the event that the prime minister-designate, Adnan al-Zarfi, failed to pass the parliament.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to "Information", that "if Al-Zrafi did not succeed in his mission in 30 days or if the parliament did not give him confidence, then matters will go to Article 81 of the Constitution, where the administration of the cabinet will pass to the President of the Republic in addition to his duties as President of the Republic."
He added, "The President of the Republic has the right according to Article 81 of assigning another person as another opportunity. If this taxpayer fails to succeed, he will have before him to dissolve Parliament in accordance with Article 64 of the Constitution because he has combined the capacity of the President of the Republic and the ministers together."
