"The alliance of Iraq, our identity," led by Gamal Karbouli, did not support the results of the special session of the House of Representatives held yesterday, for the elections, which he considered to be contrary to the provisions of the Constitution and the laws in force.
"The decisions of the special session on Monday violated the provisions of the Constitution in Articles 5, 6 and 14, and the articles of the Elections Law No. (45) of 2013 amended by the Parliament itself, including the provisions of Article (40 / IV and V) (5) of the text of the First Amendment Law to amended Law No. (45) for the year 2013 regarding the procedure of electronic counting and sorting of the results of the elections.
The statement expressed regret "for the misuse of some of the parliament's dome to exert political pressure on the Independent Electoral Commission and the judiciary to pass some of the losers."
"The coalition of Iraq, our identity," which gets 9 seats in the new parliament, that the meeting of the Council of Representatives "did not complete the quorum as stipulated by the provisions of the Constitution in Article (59 / I) and was an unhappy end to the age of the Iraqi Council of Representatives in its third session.
He called on the judiciary and the Iraqi government to "stop the attempts of blackmail and political pressure that some parties are trying to impose and impose on the Independent High Electoral Commission to force them to violate the laws and change the results of the recent elections, which constitutes a clear and explicit threat to the sustainability of the political process in Iraq and a clear rejection of the provisions of Article (6) the Constitution".
The Electoral Commission warned of the "coup" on the results, a day after the Iraqi parliament called for the cancellation of the elections abroad and conditional voting for displaced people in four provinces.
The head of the electoral constituency in the Electoral Commission, Riad Badran, said there was a danger to the "coup attempt on election results," announced by the Commission earlier.
He said in a television interview that the coup against the election results could lead to civil war in the country.
The Council of Ministers decided last Thursday to form a committee of judicial, security and oversight institutions to study the appeals, affirming the granting of the right of access to all documents relating to the elections.
The Iraqi parliament - whose mandate is nearing completion - adopted in an extraordinary session on Monday to discuss the election file, adopted a resolution calling on all concerned parties and in accordance with its competence to take the means to restore confidence to the elections.
