Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi explained, regarding the first session of Parliament after the state decision issued by the Federal Court, pointing out that the court’s continuation of issuing a decision in favor of the plaintiff will lead to a change in the constitutional period for choosing the President of the Republic, as the first session will be canceled and a new one will start so that other times to choose President of the Republic.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalouma, "The Federal Court confirmed that its state decision regarding the presidency of the parliament will not affect the constitutional periods specified for choosing the President of the Republic and the rest of the timings."
He added, "The constitutional terms will be affected and changed if the court issues a decision in favor of the plaintiff, as the court is likely to issue its decision before February 8th."
And he indicated that "the period specified for choosing the president of the republic is 30 days after the date of the first session of Parliament and the selection of its speaker, but this period will be re-set again in the event that the court issues a decision in favor of the plaintiff and ruled that the first session of Parliament is unconstitutional."
He pointed out that "the court's passage of the decision will not only cancel the position of Parliament Speaker, but will also cancel the positions of the first and second deputies, given that the session was not constitutional." finished 25
