Today, Thursday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed the decision to end the presence of foreign combat forces in Iraq, which was issued by the House of Representatives at the beginning of last year .
Saleh said in a statement that "Iraq's relationship with the United States is important and fundamental and based on common interests, and the strategic dialogue between us addresses all political, economic, cultural and security issues ."
Saleh added, "There is a decision to end the presence of American and foreign combat forces," noting that "there are now no more than 2,500 personnel ."
On the other hand, the President of the Republic stated that "there is a defect in the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil, and the relationship must be put in its proper basis, and each party knows its rights and duties through a national dialogue in which everyone sits to discuss it ."
Saleh explained, "The citizen in Basra is no longer satisfied with this system, and the citizen in the Kurdistan region is not satisfied with this system."
