    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Sunday, that the integrity of the elections is of the utmost necessity, and that the opportunity for broad participation in them must be given away from fraud.
    The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement received by the National News Center that “Saleh received in the Peace Palace in Baghdad the President and members of the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennes Plasschaert, the electoral assistance team in Iraq (UNAMI) and an advisor. Prime Minister for Elections, Hussain Al-Hindawi. ”
    During the meeting, according to the statement, “the timetables and their operations were reviewed, the necessity of holding them on schedule, the obligations and requirements for conducting fair and fair elections, and the intensification of efforts to complete the biometric registration of voters in order to ensure broad participation, and the strengthening of the role of the United Nations in supporting the electoral process and the necessity. International observation of the elections in a way that contributes to the success of the elections, and guarantees sovereignty and respect for the independent decision of the Iraqis.
    The statement stated that “Saleh stressed during the meeting the importance of the upcoming elections, as they are considered articulated elections and your national entitlement, indicating“ the necessity of securing fair and fair elections in the various stages of their conduct in a manner that removes doubts and concerns about them, which were the reason for the citizens ’reluctance to participate in them.”
    Saleh added, "There is an urgent need to provide a safe and stable environment and to be assured of the safety of the procedures applied to conduct elections and to rely on the biometric card, and to give voters the opportunity to choose their representatives away from fraud, manipulation and pressure, as well as granting equal opportunities to candidates to participate and run."
    Noting that "these factors represent a basic pillar for the success of the elections and the launch towards the desired reform."
