He added, "Parliamentary affairs were also discussed, and the importance of coordination between the executive and legislative authorities, in a way that helps in addressing many important files," noting that "the meeting touched on the ongoing preparations for holding provincial elections next December, and the importance of continuing to support the elements The success of fair, impartial and transparent elections, in addition to discussing the draft amendment to the Independent High Electoral Commission law, and proceeding with its legislation procedures, in accordance with constitutional and legal mechanisms, taking into account the observations that were raised.
He explained, "The meeting reviewed the results of the visit of the Iraqi security delegation, headed by the Minister of Defense, to the United States of America, in drawing up the future relationship between the two countries, and the participants emphasized support for the dialogue efforts that the government is carrying out with the United States of America, in a way that enhances national sovereignty and preserves supreme interests." country in various fields.
And he continued, "The meeting also emphasized the activation of the parliamentary oversight role, and the need for all ministries and governorates to adhere to the approved disbursement mechanisms in the financial budget and not to use them in the electoral process, in a way that violates the principle of equal opportunities and indicates the exploitation of office and public money."
The meeting urged, according to the statement, the ministerial committee concerned with the draft oil and gas law to complete its discussions with technicians in the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and to proceed with the maturation of the draft project.
