Today, Saturday, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced that the associated gas production during the month of February reached 2,612 barrels per day, a slight increase in production compared to January of this year.
The ministry said in a statistic published on its official website that "the associated gas production by oil companies throughout Iraq last February reached 2,612 mqmqs per day," indicating that "the burned amounted to 1315 mqmq per day."
The ministry added that "the production of the North and Central Oil Company of associated gas amounted to 307 muqams per day, and the incinerated amount of it reached 58 makqam per day, while the associated gas production from Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan oil reached 2,305 makqam per day and 1,275 mqmq per day burned."
The ministry indicated that "Iraq's production of dry gas has reached 1,227 Mqm a day, while the production of liquid gas has reached 6000 tons per day."
The associated gas production by oil companies throughout Iraq for the month of January reached 2580 maks a day.
Initial estimates of the Ministry of Oil indicate that Iraq possesses reserves estimated at 132 trillion cubic feet of gas, as about 70% of Iraqi gas is associated with the extraction of oil for processing, and Iraq is ranked eleventh among the countries in the world rich in natural gas.
